Le Carline, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

The hotel appeared recently refurbed and we were delighted because when we booked it was rated 2 star, and to be honest, it was nicer than some 4 stars we had stayed at. We arrived at around 11:00pm but the reception area was staffed - and the bar was open until 1:00am. There were plenty of parking spaces and it was secure enough. You need a code to get in after a certain time, which reception provided. The hotel itself was way above our expectations - so much so that we booked to stay on our return. The rooms were clean and comfortable and air conditioned. The air-con was blasting away, but easy to change. The showers are a generous size and there is a proper hairdryer (not one of these secured to a wall) and plenty of fluffy towels. There was no view to speak of, but we were only doing a night stop. There is a Buffalo Grill restaurant literally next door to the hotel, and close by, Chinese, Italian and French restaurants. The Staff were charming, and extremely helpful and friendly and spoke English (and didn't laugh at my French). They booked us a taxi into town. Nothing was too much trouble. There are regular Trams into Caen close to the hotel if you prefer. There is a large Carrefour nearby where you could do your food shop before you head off on your journey. The breakfast was great - lots of choice from a cooked English to continental style - so something for everyone. I would definitely recommend it for an overnight stay.

The hotel is very nice and well furnished, cleaned and cosy for family and business trip. Nice main area with sofas, tables to plug your computer and a bar to relax. Also the restaurant is a big plus. Have a place to eat in the hotel after a long day is very convenient. The breakfast is also very good. The room has everything you need and a nice bathroom with enough space to move. The staff is very professional and warm. Good money for value.

The room is basic but extremely clean and all my needs were catered for. Coffee machine in the room was a bonus. The staff were excellent and very helpful. The secure parking exactly as described and I felt sure I would see my motorbike in the morning which is always my first priority when travelling.

The hotel was really comfortable. I spent there 4 nights. The breakfast was fine and varied, the staff was kind and nice. The city center is easy accessible by tram or a bit walk.
